Park City and Virtual

MyHen - short for My Homeschool Enrichment Network - was founded in Park City, Utah and started in a very personal way. When I made the decision to homeschool my two children, I quickly realized that we needed more: more connection, more opportunities, and more ways to bring learning to life. I began gathering small groups of families to share resources, pool funds, and bring in passionate instructors. What began as a simple solution for my own kids quickly grew into a vibrant, grassroots network.
Today, MyHen exists to support families pursuing alternative education by providing access to hands-on enrichment experiences and a strong, connected community. We believe learning should be joyful, flexible, and grounded in real-world experiences that spark curiosity and confidence.
Since launching, we’ve served over 300 children and supported more than 100 families through nature-based learning, creative hands-on courses, and field trips. Our programs are rooted in place-based learning - fostering a lasting sense of belonging and identity.
With the success of our 2023–2025 programs in Summit County, we’re expanding our reach. For the 2025–2026 school year, we aim to serve over 500 children and support more than 250 families. We’re actively building relationships with family-led co-ops, nature groups, and micro-communities - offering support, resources, and collaboration to amplify the amazing work already happening.
We’re also deepening partnerships with local educators, artists, farmers, and mentors, and working to increase access to free or low-cost enrichment opportunities so that more families, regardless of background, can be part of this growing movement.
At MyHen, we believe community-rooted education has the power to transform lives. We’re proud to walk alongside homeschooling families who are creating new possibilities for how children grow, learn, and connect - with each other and the world around them.

MyHen.org is a central hub for discovering meaningful educational opportunities tailored to homeschoolers. On our site, you’ll find a regularly updated calendar of upcoming classes, courses, field trips, and events - along with direct registration links.
We feature both:
Our offerings are open to all homeschoolers - regardless of style, structure, or experience. Whether you're looking for nature-based learning, hands-on STEM projects, creative arts, or real-world skill-building, everything we do is designed to support flexible, engaging education rooted in curiosity, community, and connection.
If you're a local business or have a passion for a subject or skill you'd love to share, we’d love to hear from you! Please reach out to us at info@myhen.org.
If you're a homeschooling family interested in classes, field trips, or meetups, be sure to sign up for our newsletter to be notified as new opportunities are added.

About Us
Founded in Park City, Utah - MyHen began with one mom, two kids, and a simple need for more.
After moving to Utah in search of a better education, founder Sara Simcox, quickly realized that even the “best” schools didn’t fit the unique needs of her children. When she made the decision to homeschool, she discovered just how powerful personalized, hands-on learning could be - but also how hard it was to find meaningful opportunities and community support.
So she started creating them.
What began as a few families pooling resources to bring in passionate instructors has grown into a dynamic grassroots network connecting hundreds of homeschoolers across Summit County and beyond.
Today, MyHen (short for My Homeschool Enrichment Network) is a trusted resource for families exploring alternative education. We connect homeschoolers with high-quality enrichment experiences - both through partnerships with local businesses and original programs organized by our team. From nature-based classes to creative arts, STEM, and field trips, everything we do is grounded in real-world learning and a deep belief in the power of community.
We’re proud to walk alongside families who are rethinking education and creating new possibilities for how children grow, learn, and connect.

Synthesis Teams is a live, collaborative problem-solving program where students work in small groups to tackle complex challenges together. Led by trained coaches, sessions focus on critical thinking, communication, and decision-making rather than rote answers. Kids learn by discussing ideas, testing strategies, and adapting in real time—building confidence, teamwork, and intellectual curiosity. .

Synthesis Tutor is an AI-powered, self-paced math tutor that adapts to each child’s thinking in real time. Rather than giving answers, it asks guiding questions, encourages multiple approaches, and helps students build true problem-solving skills at their own pace. It’s especially powerful for motivated learners who enjoy challenge and independence. Synthesis Tutor includes a free trial, making it easy for families to explore and see if it’s a good fit.

Curious Cardinals
Curious Cardinals is a mentorship-based program pairing K–12 students with college mentors to help turn interests into meaningful projects, including research, creative portfolios, and passion-driven work. This is a resource I recently learned about and haven’t personally used yet, but it may be a good fit for families interested in project-based mentorship.
